Juneteenth 2026 Spokane has many events (DRAFT)
Several Juneteenth events are planned in Spokane, including a celebration at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center on Saturday, June 21st. The NAACP Spokane Branch is hosting a fireside chat with Cliff Avril and Alethea Dumas. Additionally, the Pillar Awards will be held at The Fox on Friday, June 20th. The Spokane Indians will also host King Carl Night at Avista Stadium on June 19th. A Soul Food Fest & Resource Fair will take place at the MLK Center on June 21st.
Taste of Asia & Filipino-American Friendship Festival (DRAFT)
A vibrant celebration of culture, heritage, and international friendship will take place at Riverfront Park on June 21, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM, as Spokane welcomes the public to a triple event: the Taste of Asia Festival, the Philippine American Friendship Celebration, and the Sister City Bench Dedication honoring Spokane's enduring relationship with Jilin, China.

Arbor Day at Finch Arboretum
The John A. Finch Arboretum is Spokane’s “outdoor classroom” for naturalists, horticulturists, and students of all ages. Be sure to bring your cameras and kids to wander and play while admiring the natural beauty of the Inland Northwest and Spokane’s urban forest canopy. The botanical collections of the arboretum hold over 2,000 trees and shrubs representing over 600 species and varieties from around the world.
Live music, compost fair, activities, education, free seedlings, raffle, climbing demo, family friendly, and free!

PJALS, Peacekeeping & De-Escalation Skills
Nonviolence in Action: Peacekeeping & De-Escalation Skills - Training by PJALS
The Peace & Justice Action League of Spokane will host "Nonviolence in Action: Peacekeeping & De-Escalation Skills for Protests & Events" from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Spokane.
A location will be shared with registrants closer to the event.
In this Peacekeeper Training, attendees can learn principles and guidelines of nonviolence in action. The training will cover key techniques to defuse and de-escalate potentially volatile situations and plan for safety at protests and events, including dealing with potential ICE or police presence.
