I-645 —Washington Repeal Tax on Household Income Over $1 Million and Prohibit State and Local Taxes on Income Initiatives
This initiative aims to repeal the state's newly enacted "millionaire’s tax", which State officials estimate it would affect less than 1% of households and raise billions to avoid a huge budget deficit, and support education, health care, human services, school meals, the Working Families Tax Credit, and reduction of small business taxes.
I-001 —Washington Parental Right to Review Education Materials, Receive Notifications, and Opt Out of Sexual-Health Education Initiative
This initiative seeks to partially repeal a key student privacy law that protects students’ access to counselors and health care. It violates students’ privacy, undermines their dignity, and raises the risk of increasing stigma and bullying in the classroom and beyond.
I-638 —Washington Sex Verification Requirements for Female School Sports Initiative
This initiative would ban transgender girls from playing girls’ sports in Washington’s public schools. Such a ban would be in direct conflict with our state’s anti-discrimination laws and would subject all girls — transgender or not — to harmful medical sex verification procedures before they are allowed to participate in girls’ sports. Laws that target transgender girls do nothing to support our youth; they only foster discrimination and bullying.
