Spokane Indivisible and SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) have come together to bring you the “Power to the People” CD5 Candidate Forum, featuring the Democratic and Independent candidates running against Michael Baumgartner.

A short survey has been shared with our community. The question posed was, “What would you like your government to do for you?” We compiled nearly a thousand responses and identified 13 concerns. Based on these concerns, we formulated questions to allow our candidates to present clear, specific solutions.

This forum is designed to create a space where candidates can genuinely listen to the communities they hope to represent. Our goal is to elevate the lived experiences, concerns, and hopes of local residents so the conversation reflects what actually matters to the people, not what politicians assume matters.

Our local public station, KSPS will be recording the event to broadcast at a later date.
