LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
|

3/25/2010
Fellow Spokane Democrats,
We, the chairmen of the Spokane County Democratic Party and the Spokane County Republican Party, are issuing this joint letter to voice our concerns and ask for your help. During this campaign season, we’ve already seen some acts of vandalism, damaging candidate signs both on the roads and in citizens’ yards.
Most people running for office this year are not rich people. They and their backers work hard for their funds, and vandalism is both costly and squelches free speech. We both agree that private property should be respected. We also agree that one of the best things about living in America is our right to free speech and the right to disagree. Trespassing on other citizens’ property can only lead to trouble.
We ask our fellow party members and citizens to work with us to make Spokane a law abiding, clean and respectful place to live—please do not damage or steal our candidates’ property. We look forward to an exciting campaign season and having discussions about the important issues here in our community.
Sincerely,
Amy Biviano, Chair, Spokane County Democratic Party
Cindy Zapotocky, Chair, Spokane County Republican Party
