
The Park Ballroom at the Red Lion Hotel was the venue for the 2010 Legacy Dinner. U.S. Representative Jay Inslee was the Master of Ceremonies giving a memorable evening to the two hundred and eleven good Democrats who attended the dinner.

Senator Patty Murray (also a good Democrat) gave an uplifting report on her activities in the other Washington and explained why it is important to participate in our democratic process.

She also related the importance of continued support for education of our children, the significance of providing skills and training to the workforce needed for the United States to remain a world economic leader, and her ongoing efforts to ensure federal dollars are being applied appropriately.
The night proceeded with a sumptuous feast and then came presentation of the annual awards.

Mayo Sayrs received the “Spirit of the Democratic Party Award”
Chris Jackson received the "Young Democrat Award"
"The Blue Star Award" went to the Voiceless Choir
Hollis Higgins accepted the "Spirit of the Democratic Party Award"
Terri Sloyer accepted the "Bill First Award" for the Gaia House
City Councilman Jon Snyder accepted the "Man of the Year Award"
City Councilwoman Amber Waldref accepted the "Woman of the Year Award"
Senator Lois Stratton accepted the "Lifetime Achievement Award"
"The Hall of Fame Award" went to Bill Donahue and was accepted by the Spokane County Democratic Central Committee on his behalf

Thoughtful acceptance speeches were heard from the award winners and testimonial statements were given on behalf of Bill Donahue and Mike Carbone for their years of volunteer service to the SCDCC and the community.
The 2010 Legacy Dinner was by all measure a resounding success, illustrating the true spirit of our party and the dedication of the SCDCC membership.
